The year 2005 marked the 50th anniversary of our Alma Mater, St.
Francis Xavier's College, which was founded by the Marist
Brothers in 1955. Alongside the year-long Golden Jubilee celebrations,
a fund raising campaign was launched for the renovation of the old
school premises, as well as equipping and furnishing a new wing of
the school. The response from our alumni was overwhelming and the
campaign concluded with a handsome surplus of some HK$3M+, with which
we have established this St. Francis Xavier's College Foundation.
SFXC Foundation Limited was officially registered in 2006 under
the Hong Kong Companies Ordinance with a view to generating healthy
returns from the above seed fund and future donations. Our target
in 2007 is to raise HK$6M, so that we could build up the Foundation
to a total of HK$10M which could be more gainfully invested.
The returns from investment will be used for further improvement
of our school facilities, enhancement of its teaching capacity, especially
in language studies, as well as subsidising promising students who
need financial assistance.
All old boys are encouraged to contribute and join in the effort
for the good of our Alma Mater and junior Xaverians!
Once a Xaverian,
always a Xaverian! |
