Dear Alumni,

Whether you like it or not, you will soon be receiving a sum of HK$6,000.00 from the HKSAR Government.  You may have various plans for spending this money.  One meaningful way of using this windfall, we suggest, will be to make a donation to St. Francis Xavier’s College Foundation Limited (“SFXC Foundation”) as a token of your love and support for our alma mater.

As you know SFXC Foundation was established in 2006 following the 50th Anniversary celebration of our alma mater in 2005.  It is a registered charitable organization under s.88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance.  We started off with some HK$10 million comprising donations from hearty alumni.  This money and its return from investment over the past few years have been used to support our alma mater for:

1. improving school facilities;
2. enhancing teaching capability; and
3. disbursing scholarship to outstanding students, and subsidy to needy students.

To this date, totally $1,700,000.00 had been expensed for granting scholarships to outstanding students, financing support to needy students, and improving standard of teaching staff and quality of school facilities. 

As an old boy with loving feeling towards our alma mater, you would no doubt share our eagerness that our alma mater continues to be one of the top secondary schools in Hong Kong.  To this end, we earnestly appeal to you to use this windfall for a worthy cause by donating it to SFXC Foundation.  All you have to do is to fill in this donation form and send to us together with a cheque payable to “SFXC FOUNDATION LIMITED”.
